Lesson 2.4: Using Data Access Pages

   

 

 

1.                   

Open Contact Form 2 from the Exercise Files folder using Internet Explorer.

If prompted, allow the script to run. Fill in the form with any data you like.

Scroll to the bottom of the form.

Note that all navigational buttons are disabled; we can’t view any of the data in the database.

 

 

 

4.                   

Click the Save button () on the navigational toolbar.

Close Internet Explorer.

 

 

5.                   

Open 2-4 Sample from the Exercise Files folder.

 

 

 

6.                   

Switch to the database window.

Click Tables.

Double-click Contacts.

 

 

 

7.                   

You should see the contact you added via the data access page.

 

 

 

8.                   

Close the table.

In the database window, switch to Pages.

Click Contact Form 2 and click Design.

 

 

 

9.                   

Click the Edit menu and click Select Page.

In the Properties dialog, click the Data tab.

Set the DataEntry value to False.

Close the Properties window.

 

 

 

10.               

Save your changes as Contact Form 3.

Close the Contact form.

 

 

 

11.               

Open Contact Form 2 and Contact Form 3 in Internet Explorer. Note how you can view data in one and not the other.

 

 

 

12.               

Close Internet Explorer and Microsoft Access 2003.
