Toolbars in Access are found at the top of the window under the Menu bar. Open Access and click a few of the menus to see their contents. Did you notice the small pictures to the left of some of the menu items?

 

Those small icons mean that they are part of at least one toolbar in Access. In the diagram above, notice that the New, Open, and File Search menu pictures correspond to the first few items of the Database toolbar in Access:

This means that the options to make a new file, open an existing file, and search for a file are all available with just one click instead of having to go through a menu. Note that the icons that appear faded in a toolbar are not available at the time but will become active at the appropriate time.
