Access has the ability to correct the spelling of commonly misspelled words. Access can also apply a number of formatting options automatically (AutoCorrect), such as turning (r) into ®. You can access and change the various spelling options by clicking Tools à Options and then clicking the Spelling tab:
In the case of a database, you probably won’t have too many spelling errors as most of the data is going to be abbreviated, numbers, or proper names. However adjusting and making use of the AutoCorrect options can save a lot of time in the long run. If you want to know a bit more information regarding a command, you can always click the Question Mark box beside the Close box in the dialog and then click on a command you want to explore.
