The Views submenu in the My Computer dialogue box allows you to adjust the size and detail of the objects displayed in the dialogue box. The default view is List:

 

There are several other views in the list that you have likely seen before. The icon view of the icons on your desktop is the same as the Icons option where there is a small picture denoting the program or file type and the name underneath. The Tiles view is the default view whenever you are exploring the folders of your computer where the icon is to the left of the file name, date it was created/modified and the size of the file.
