Open the
Lesson 4.2 file from the
section 4 folder of your Exercise Files.

Click the
New
Report button in the Report
page of the Database window.
When the New Report
dialogue appears, make sure
Design View is selected from
the options in the list and pick the
Employees table from the combo
box.
Click
Ok.
Open the
Properties of the report and
change both Grid X and Grid Y to
8.
Drag
Last
Name,
First
Name,
Address,
City,
Postal Code,
and
Home Phone
loosely into the Detail section of the Report:

Move each text label
closer to the corresponding text field.
Align the fields and
their labels together to
match
the following diagram:

Click in an
empty dark grey area to deselect any selected objects.
Click and drag a box
around the Address, City, and Postal Code objects to select the
labels and the text boxes.
Move all of
the selected objects underneath the Home Phone field.

|
Click and drag
the
Photo field
from the Employees table to the space previously occupied by
Address, City, and Postal Code.
Drag and resize
the photo object to occupy one square inch of the grid:

|
Drag the
bottom of the Page Footer
to the Page Footer section divider. This will effectively
eliminate the Page Footer.
 |

|
|
7.
|
Click the
Label
icon in the Toolbox and
drag
a label box in the Page Header
section.
Type
Employees:
 |

|
|
|
8.
|
Click the
AutoFormat button.
Select the
Soft
Grey AutoFormat from the list
and click
OK.
You will have to
adjust the various fields
to compensate for the larger font.
Remember to use the arrow keys to adjust the various controls
one measurement at a time.
Your report should now
look something like this:

Save the
report, name it
Basic Employee Report,
and
close
Microsoft Access 2003. |
