The final
dialogue box asks if you would like the pivot table to be placed
in a new worksheet or an existing worksheet. If you select
New worksheet, (new work sheet is selected by default), a
new worksheet will be created and the pivot table will be placed
in the upper left corner of the new sheet. If you select
Existing worksheet, types a cell reference in the
text field provided, or click on a worksheet cell to specify a
location. The pivot table will be placed with its upper left
corner on the cell you specify. For this exercise select New
worksheet. You can click the layout button to specify your
data now, or click the finish button to first create an empty
pivot table, and then arrange your data afterwards. For this
exercise, click finish and create an empty pivot table.

The empty
PivotTable frame should look like this. It is located on a new
worksheet named Sheet4. Notice the column headings
(fields) available in the PivotTable Field List that you
can choose from to add to the table.
Remember to
save your work before exiting Excel. |
