To begin,
locate the standard toolbar and move your mouse pointer over
each button.

Take note of
the brief descriptions that appear when your pointer hovers for
a moment.

Now, left
click on the chart button. (indicated by the arrow)
 
The Chart
Wizard dialogue box will be displayed.

Click on the
cancel button in the
dialogue box to make the chart wizard disappear.

Now, locate
the formatting toolbar and move your pointer over each button.

Take note of
the brief description that is displayed when your pointer hovers
over a button.

Left click
on any one of the numerous small rectangles on the Excel screen
and type Excel.
 
Click on an
empty cell, and then click on the cell with the word Excel in
it. Left click the Fill
button (indicated by the arrow) and you should see the cell fill
with a yellow background.
Now click
the Bold button.

You should
now see the word Excel in boldface on a yellow background.

Press the
Alt +
V keys to display the view
menu.
 
Click on the
arrows (chevron) in the blue circle at the bottom of the view
menu to expand it (it will expand on its own after a few
moments).

Move your
pointer to the Toolbars option on the menu. The right
pointing triangle indicates that there is a sub menu available
for this option. Let your mouse pointer hover on the Toolbars
option for a moment and the Toolbars menu will be displayed.

This menu is
a list of the toolbars available in Excel. The toolbars with
checkmarks next to them will be visible on the Excel screen. You
can check or uncheck toolbars to display or hide them. In this
instance, the standard and formatting toolbars are marked to be
visible, along with the task pane.

Click your
mouse button on any cell and the menus will disappear.
Click the
close button marked with X in the upper right corner of
the screen to close Excel.
