Lesson 1.5: Explore your Workbook

   

 

 

In this exercise you will practice using Excel’s zoom feature.

1.

Start Excel by double clicking the Excel icon on the desktop, or by using the Start menu.

Start->programs->Microsoft Office->Microsoft Office Excel 2003.

When you see the Excel screen, click the file menu and select the Open option to display the Open file dialogue box. File->Open

Browse to your Excel 2003 practice folder and Select the SimpleSales file.

Click the Open button to open the workbook

You should now see the simple sales workbook.

 

 

 

 

5.

Click on the zoom drop down list arrow, and select the 200% scale factor. (the current zoom value of 100% is highlighted in blue and is visible in the text field)

 

 

 

 

6.

You should now see the Simple Sales worksheet in a closer view.

7.

Click on the zoom text field, (make sure the number currently in the text field is highlighted in blue) type 60 and press Enter.

You can now see a much larger worksheet area, with less detail. Click the File menu and select Close, (File->Close). When the save changes alert box appears, click the No button. Close Excel by clicking the close button(X) in the upper right of the Excel screen.
