Outlook has a central way for you to manage all these data file options:
the Data File Management window. You can either click on the File menu
and click Data File Management, or click the Data File Management link
when you’re in the folder list view. Either choice will bring up this
screen:
Here’s an overview of the options in this window: -
Tell Me More: Brings up Outlook help topics related to personal folder files. -
Main window: Lists data files currently in Outlook. You can click the headers
(Name, Filename, or Comment) to sort by these fields. The comment field
will tell you which data file e-mail is being delivered to. -
Settings: Opens the advanced properties window for the selected personal
folder file. -
Open Folder: Opens a My Computer window displaying the contents of the folder
that the selected personal folder file is in. (The file itself will be
highlighted in the My Computer window.) -
Add: Begins the process of adding a new personal folder file. -
Remove: Closes the personal folder file. -
Close: Closes the window. This
is a great tool to familiarize yourself with if you’re going to be
working with data files.
