SECTION 4
Lesson 4.1: Setting up Business Contact Manager

You may be a bit alarmed the first time you access your Business Contact Manager database if it looks like the picture below. Where are all the tools and special folders?

If your screen looks like the sample on the right, it just means you’re in the wrong view. If you’re in the mail view, these are the only folders that will display since none of the special Business Contact Manager folders are mail folders. To see the complete folder list, just click the Go menu and click Folder list, or click the folder icon () at the bottom of the Navigation Pane.

Then you’ll see all of the Business Contact Manager folders like in the sample on the right.

You can see that we have two Outlook folders (Deleted Items and Search Folders), while the other folders represent different Business Contact Manager item types. (We’ll get into the different items later on.) Deleted Items and Search Folders work just like they do in Outlook, making them one less thing to learn!

Business Contact Manager folders are just like Outlook folders: once you click on the folder, its items will display in the pane on the right. However, you cannot add new Business Contact Manager folders or modify the existing folder names.
