Lesson 4.3: Information Management Tools

   

 

 

The Product and Service Items List isn’t a full-fledged inventory manager, but it can help you keep track of what products and services your company offers, and at what price. This information can help you answer customer queries, manage accounts, and budget resources for opportunities.

 

To get to this tool, click the Business Tools menu and click Product and Service Item List. You’ll see this window:

 

 

The main part of the screen lists products and services that you have entered. To find a particular product or service you can type its name in the text box at the top; Business Contact Manager will jump to the product matching what you type in. Of course, you can also select one from the list.

 

On the right hand side, you can click the Add button to add a new product. (You can also select a product and click Delete to remove it.) Or, you can select an existing product and click Edit. If you click Add or Edit you’ll see this window:

 

 

It’s pretty easy to use: just type in your information and click OK. (If you’ve clicked Edit, the fields will already be filled in with the saved information.) Once your information is entered, you’ll see the product on the main Product and Service Item List screen that we saw before.

 

Let’s go back to the main Product and Services Item List screen for a moment.

 

 

The options at the bottom include Help, Import (to import from a Comma Separated Values file) and Close.

 

Once you’re done entering information, click Close to go back to the main Outlook screen.
