Lesson 3.2: Using the Contacts Folder

   

 

 

In the figure above, you can see the radio list in the navigation pane. This middle portion is titled Current Views; it controls how you see your contacts. The example above is left at the default, Address Cards.

 

The easiest way to organize your contacts is by using the buttons that are labelled with letters to the right. If you click on one of those buttons, Outlook will jump to and highlight the first contact whose last name begins with the letter you clicked. This is really useful when you have a lot of contacts

 

If we click on Phone List in the navigation pane, however, the screen changes to a table view like this one:

 

 

In this view, you can click on the column headers (circled in red) to sort by Full Name, Company, etc. You’ll also see that distribution lists are highlighted in bold.

 

You can see there are lots of other views in the Navigation Pane; they’re all pretty self-explanatory. Go ahead and play around with them to get your contacts folder the way you want it.
