Another new feature in Outlook 2003 is favourite folders. You can see this
feature at the top of the navigation pane; you can see an example below.
Favourite folders are just a list of commonly used folders. By default,
Outlook includes two mail folders (Inbox and Sent Items) and two search
folders (Unread Mail and For Follow Up) in the list. The list is similar
to the navigation pane in that each folder will show the unread count
(see the blue number next to Inbox in the sample picture?). You can
click on any of these folders to see its contents (for mail or item
folders) or to run a query (if the folder is a search folder). You
can move items around in the favourite folders list by dragging and
dropping them or by right-clicking on them and choosing Move Up or Move
Down. Right-clicking will also give you the option to remove the folder
from the list, or use any of the typical folder options like renaming,
deleting, copying or moving the folder. (Remember that default folders
like inbox, sent items, drafts, outbox, junk e-mail, contacts, and
deleted items can’t be deleted, renamed, or moved.) You
can also add any folder you want to the favourite folders pane by
right-clicking on it and choosing Add to Favourite Folders, or by
dragging and dropping it into the favourite folders pane
That’s all there is to using favourite folders!
