Besides using search and favourite folders, Outlook has a few other ways
to help you find what you’re looking for. Here’s an overview of three of
them:
The first option
(marked with a 1 in the Figure above) is the basic Outlook find. You can
see this toolbar just below the find button; it has the fields Look For,
Search In, and the Find Now button. (They are all grayed out because you
must be in a folder to be able to search.) The second option is
a box on the standard toolbar that allows you to type a contact’s name
and search for it in your contacts folder. The last search tool is
advanced find, which you can access by clicking Options in the basic
find toolbar. We’re going to talk
about how to access these options from the Tools menu on the toolbar
first. Then, we’ll move onto using the basic and advanced find options.
Last but not least, we’ll talk about the contacts search box.
