Lesson 3.4: IMAP

   




 

An IMAP mailbox will appear as a second set of folders underneath your personal folders. You can see an example below, with the IMAP folders circled in red:

 

 

The folders you’ll see in your IMAP mailbox will depend on what your system administrator or Internet Service Provider has set up. The example above only has inbox and junk e-mail, so with this IMAP account sent items, drafts, and outgoing e-mail will be saved to your personal folders. Normally you will only have mail folders; IMAP does not support special folders like calendar, contacts, and tasks.
