By default, Hotmail
and MSN accounts include four folders: Deleted Items, Inbox, Junk
E-mail, and Sent Items. (You can add other folders; you can see an extra
folder named Links in the sample above.) These folders work exactly the
same way they do in your personal folders in Outlook. In fact, using an
HTTP account in general isn’t that different from using your personal
folders. The only thing you need to remember is that all your data is
stored on the server, so Outlook will constantly be updating your data.
This is a great if you’re always connected to the Internet, but can be a
pain if your connection goes down. Like IMAP accounts,
you can move data from the Hotmail server to your personal folders by
dragging and dropping items. This can be useful if your Internet
connection goes down, and you want to work offline (which you can do by
clicking File – Work Offline). Then, you can store e-mails in your
outbox until you go back online (by clicking File – Work Online). Once
you go back online, Outlook will send those stored messages.
