Throughout the previous lessons, we’ve touched on using views to sort
items, to print, and to find items you need. We’re going to talk a bit
more now about using views. There
are four main ways you can change your view in Outlook.
-
Circled in blue is the navigation pane where you can pick from a list. (This
is only on by default in the notes, tasks, contacts, and journal
folders.) -
Circled in red is the Views menu which has lots of different choices. -
Circled in green is a column header. Just click on this field to change how
your items are listed. (With the example above, click on Created to sort
your items from newest to oldest. Click the Created field again to
reverse the order, from oldest to newest.) -
Hidden behind the Views menu are icons on the standard toolbar. These allow
you to switch from large icons, to small icons, to a list view just by
clicking on the icon. We’re not going to talk about these options in
depth because they are only shown on the calendar, contacts, tasks, and
journal toolbars, and the buttons are self-explanatory. Let’s
take a look at these different ways of viewing Outlook.
