SECTION 1
Lesson 1.3: Setup PowerPoint To Automatically Correct Text

The AutoCorrect feature allows you to type without having to correct minor mistakes you may have made. The AutoCorrect feature will automatically convert a misspelled word when a letter is misplaced or skipped. From the list provided you can check off common misspelling occurrences; like Typing, or the misuse of Caps Lock. The AutoFormat feature will automate tasks that you perform; for example, automatically adding a bullet when you enter the next line or if you were to enter a fraction it will convert it to a smaller form. Under certain circumstances the AutoCorrect feature will correct a word that does not require, for example, a capital; in this case you may enter Exceptions that will override the Autocorrect feature. A new feature in PowerPoint 2003 are Smart Tags, this function allows you to perform tasks that you would normally have to do in another program. Once Smart Tags are enabled, PowerPoint will recognize certain data and will mark it with the Smart Tag indicator; at that point you may chose to perform certain actions with the Smart Tag, without having to open another program.
