Lesson 2.4: Implementing Hyperlinks

   

 

 

This exercise will go through creating the variety of hyperlinks discussed, as well as changing and inserting action buttons. When we come to inserting a hyperlink to a web page, make sure you are connected to the internet, as this lesson will have you opening the web page from the location in the presentation.

 

1.

Open presentation; select the slide requiring a hyperlink.

 

 

2.

Select the text or image that will represent the hyperlink.

 

 

3.

Go to Insert, Select Hyperlink.

 

 

4.

In the Link to section, Select Place in this document.

 

 

5.

We want to create a hyperlink to a custom show for the current presentation; Select Custom Show1.

 

 

 

6.

Select OK.

 

Note: You will notice that the text or image you selected is a different color and underlined.

 

 

7.

Keeping the same slide active we want to be able to create a hyperlink for another slide/file in the presentation, Select the text or image to represent the hyperlink.

 

 

8.

Go to the Insert Hyperlink dialog box, Select Place in this document.

 

 

9.

Select the slide you want the hyperlink to connect you to.

 

 

 

10.

Select OK.

 

 

11.

Next we are going to connect the current slide to a slide in a different presentation.

 

Select the text or image.

 

 

12.

Go to the Insert Hyperlink dialog box.

 

 

13.

Select Existing File or Web page.

 

 

14.

Locate the Presentation, Select Bookmark.

 

 

 

15.

Select the slide.

Select OK.

 

 

17.

For the email hyperlink you can type the email address on the slide and have it represent itself or have an image represent the address.

 

Select the text or image.

 

 

18.

Go to the Insert Hyperlink dialog box.

 

 

19.

Select E-mail address.

 

 

20.

Type in address, select OK.

 

 

21.

Next we will create a hyperlink for a web page.

 

Select text/image.

Go to the Insert Hyperlink dialog box.

Go to Existing file or Web page.

Type: www.google.ca, in Address.

Click OK.

 

 

26.

In normal view, Select the newly created hyperlink.

Right Click, Select Open Hyperlink.

 

Note: you will be routed to the web page you just created the hyperlink to.

To change the color of the hyperlinks, Select Format.

Select Slide Design.

 

 

30.

Select Color Schemes, and Edit color schemes.

Click Custom tab.

Select Accent and Hyperlink or Accent and followed hyperlink.

Or

Select a color scheme from the standard tab.

Click Change color, and Apply.

 

 

34.

To change the hyperlinks destination, Select the hyperlink we just created.

 

 

35.

Go to the Insert Hyperlink dialog box.

 

 

36.

Select the new destination from the Link to section, and then follow required steps needed for the new hyperlink location.
