Speech and Handwriting recognition is simply your voice and personal hand writing is recognized by the program instead of you having to type out the document. Handwriting can be accomplished by using a handwriting input devise such as: graphics tablets used with 3-D drawing programs, a pen tablet device, or for the more talented individuals, your mouse can also be a handwriting device. Speech recognition is along the same lines except that you are dictating to the computer through a microphone; speech recognition can be used for any Office program. Speech recognition recognizes English, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese. Handwriting recognition recognizes English, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese language versions of Microsoft Office. To use these features you will need to use verbal punctuation, and voice commands.
