Lesson 3.1: Speech and Handwriting Recognition

   

 

 

The first step in Speech and Handwriting Recognition is activating the program. Once that has been completed follow the following steps on how to use Speech and Handwriting Recognition.

 

1.

Turn your Microphone on.

 

 

2.

Go to the Language toolbar, Select Dictation.

 

 

3.

Dictate Using speech recognition will help prevent carputonal.

 

Note: Don’t forget that you have to say “period” at the end of the sentence.

 

 

4.

Select the Voice Command Option.

 

 

5.

Voice: Format font Arial Black.

 

 

6.

Switch to Dictation mode, continue dictating text.

 

Note: We do recommend dictating first, and then format the text.

 

 

7.

If the language dictionary does not recognize a word:

 

Go to the Language toolbar, Select Tools.

 

 

8.

Select Add/delete word.

 

 

9.

While recording say the word and it will be added to the dictionary.

Note: We do recommend doing additional voice command training with the Voice Training Wizard.

 

Select Tools on the Language toolbar, Select Training.

10.

If you have noticed that some unrecognized words are listed,

 

Select Tools, and Learn from document.

 

 

11.

Switch to Handwriting, located on the Language toolbar.

 

Note: If you do not have a pen tablet or other writing pad, you can use your mouse to get started with.

 

 

12.

Select Writing Pad.

 

Note: The writing pad will appear along with a pen to write with.

 

 

13.

Write: With improved technology there is nothing we can not accomplish.

 

 

14.

Select Write Anywhere icon.

 

 

15.

Open a text box.

 

 

 

16.

Select the Ink icon.

 

 

17.

Write:  .

 

Note: The ink icon does not convert your writing into typed words. This can be done on the writing pad, as well as the write anywhere function.
