Lesson 3.2: Connect Yourself With The World Using Web Scripts

   

 

 

In this lesson we will go through how to operate the project explorer, editing with the properties pane and creating and inserting web scripts

 

1.

Go to Tools, Scroll to Macros.

Select Microsoft Scrip Editor.

In the top right corner of the script window you will find the Project Explorer with the current slides displayed.

Choose a slide for editing.

Take a minute to familiarize yourself with the Script editor, you will notice in the centre is the HTML pane. These are the codes encrypted on the slide/web page that you created; each step that you took to create the slide, are recorded in a code. Below the Project Explorer is the Properties Pane where familiar elements will be listed and able to edit.

For Multiple Editing changes, In the Properties Pane, Select Custom.

Select the Custom down arrow.

 

 

 

 

Note: For individual changes, select an element from this list, click on the down arrow provided.

This will open the Document Property Pages dialog box.

In the Page Title enter the slide name.

 

 

10.

For the background image, Select Browse.

If you need to change the Target Scheme, select the down arrow and choose from the list provided.

 

 

12.

You can change the color of the text, link and background under the Color and Margins tab.

 

Note: for more of a color selection, click the box next to the category, next to the down arrow.

Go to the Project Explorer, at the top of the pane you will notice these icons. The left icon will list the slide in script editor. The right will route you to the current slide you are working on in the presentation to view your changes.

If you plan on editing from the PowerPoint presentation you have to create and insert web script commands.

In the PowerPoint presentation go to Tools, Select Customize.

 

 

15.

Under the Commands tab, Select Tools.

Select Insert Script.

 

 

 

17.

Hold and drag the icon up to the Main menu, still holding onto the icon drag it to Tools, than Macros and drop it at the bottom of the list under Microsoft Script editor.

 

 

18.

Repeat this process for Remove and Show all scripts.

 

 

19.

Select Slide 1.

 

 

20.

Change the background.

 

 

21.

Go to Tools, Macros, select Insert Script.

 

 

22.

You will be transferred to the Scrip Editor where it will record the change.

 

 

23.

Click Save.

 

 

24.

Return to presentation, Save as Web Page.

 

Note: It is best to replace the file when saving again.

 

 

25.

To view the presentation as a web page:

 

Go to file, Select Web Page Preview.

 

Note: you may have to refresh, after making changes.
