Lesson 1.3: Creating A Slide

   

 

 

This exercise will show you how to move text from one destination to another using text editing features. First we will open lesson 1.3, create text, and then select the text in order to copy the text and place it at another destination.

1.                   

Open Lesson 1.3.

 

 

 

2.                   

Click the text box that says “Click to add title.”

 

 

 

3.                   

Type: Working with Text.

 

 

4.                   

Click the “Click to Add Subtitle” text box/placeholder.

 

 

 

5.                   

Type: Editing Text.

 

 

 

6.                   

Place your Insertion Point at the beginning of ‘Editing’ and highlight “Editing Text.”

 

 

 

7.                   

Click Copy.

 

 

 

8.                   

Click Slide 2.

 

 

 

9.                   

Click where it says “Click to add title.”

 

 

10.               

Click Edit, and then click Paste from the drop down menu.

Highlight the Text in Column 1.

Click Copy.

Paste in Column 2.

Click Edit, and click Find.

 

 

 

14.

Type location in the Find What box.

 

 

15.

Click Replace.

 

 

 

16.

Type destination in the Replace box.

Click Find Next.

 

 

18.

PowerPoint will scan and highlight ‘location’, click Replace to replace text.

 

 

 

19.

When finished, click Close.

 

 

20.

Highlight the word ‘text’ in the first sentence of the first column.

 

 

 

21.

Click Bold, Italicize, and Underline.

 

 

 

22.

Click Format Painter.

 

 

 

23.

Click on any word in the first or second column

 

 

 

24.

Save presentation as Lesson 1.3 – Completed.
