Lesson 1.4: Creating Customized Charts

   

 

 

Now that we know a bit more about charts, we’re going to jazz up our Funland Visitors chart.

1.

Open Lesson 1.4 from the Exercise Files folder.

 

 

2.

Click on Slide 2 and double-click the chart.

 

 

 

3.

Go to Chart, select Chart Type.

Choose Lines as the type and 3D lines as the subtype.

Click OK.

Click the Chart menu and click 3D View.

 

 

 

4.

Click the clockwise arrow once. Click OK.

 

 

 

5.

Click the Chart Type button and click Bar Chart.

 

 

 

6.

Double-click the word February. This will open the Format Axis dialog.

 

 

7.

Click the Font tab. Choose Century Gothic, 12, Regular for your font.

Click OK.

 

 

 

8.

Double-click any value on the X axis to open that Format Axis dialog. Repeat Step 7 to change its font.

 

 

9.

Click the Chart menu and click Add Trendline.

 

 

 

10.

For the type, choose Linear.

For the series, choose Shops.

Click OK.

 

 

 

11.

We can now see that the visitors to the shops are on an upward trend.

 

 

 

12.

Click the Value Axis Gridlines button to toggle gridlines off.

 

 

 

13.

Click outside the datasheet. Save your presentation as Lesson 1.4 Completed.
