Lesson 2.1: Tasks

   

 

 

You may want to link your tasks to other places, such as a file on your computer, an Internet site, or a site on your company’s intranet. The first way to do this is in the Task Notes, located in the Task Information dialog.

 



 

You can also attach a hyperlink by selecting the task, then clicking the Insert menu and choosing Hyperlink. That command will open this dialog:

Insert Hyperlink Command

Task Notes

Can browse to files on your computer or network, or specific places in those files (such as a section in a Microsoft Word document).

Cannot browse or link to files.

Can link to e-mail addresses, Web sites, or Intranet sites.

Can link to Web or intranet sites; must know the address as there is no browse function.

One per task.

Can list as many as you want.

Can click the task indicator (Hyperlink indicator) to jump to that location.

Task indicator (Note indicator) shows that a note is attached, but must manually open Task Information and click the Notes field.
