SECTION 2
Lesson 2.4: Project and Other Applications

Many people use Microsoft’s information management program, Outlook, to manage e-mail, time, and tasks. Luckily, it’s easy to import information from Outlook to Project. This can be particularly useful if you’re just starting to use Project.

To start, click the Tools menu and click Import Outlook Tasks.

You will then see a dialog listing your Outlook task folders and the tasks in each of them. You can use the checkboxes on the left hand side to choose which tasks to import.

Once you’re done, click OK. The task will now appear in Project. Although task notes and dates will be preserved, recurrences will not be preserved. As well, remember that Outlook’s reminder feature does not work in Project.

However, you can edit, move, or delete this task just like you would any other.
