Open Microsoft Project

Open 3-1 Sample
from the Sample Files folder.

menu, choose
Toolbars, and click
PERT Analysis.

PERT Entry Sheet

the PERT values have been entered. Complete the chart as shown
below.

Select
Task 17
and click the
PERT Weights button ( ) on the
PERT toolbar.

Enter 4 for the
pessimistic weight, and 1 for the expected and optimistic
weights.
Click
OK.

Open the
PERT weights
for Task #7.
Since it shares resources with Task 17, the PERT weights are the
same.

To complete our PERT
analysis, click the
calculation
button ( ) on the
PERT Analysis toolbar.
Click
Yes
to the warning and
OK to any
conflict messages you may receive.

Optimistic Scenario
button ( ) on the
PERT toolbar. (We have adjusted our columns and zoomed out to
make viewing easier.)

Now, let’s take a look
at the worst-case scenario. Click the
Pessimistic Scenario
button ( ) on the
PERT toolbar. (We have adjusted our columns and zoomed out to
make viewing easier.)
