Speech and handwriting recognition is a feature which allows you to enter text, graphics, and formatting styles without using the keyboard. Speech and Handwriting recognition comes with certain tools used for each feature. Speech recognition comes with speech commands and training, although a head set or microphone is required for this feature. Handwriting recognition comes with a special toolbar and writing commands. In order to use this feature a mouse, touch pad, graphics tablet, or pen tablet device is required. Speech and handwriting recognition can be used in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook, although some features are only available in Word and Outlook.
