Lesson 1.2: Inserting Clip Art

   

 

 

Lesson 1.2 guides you through searching through clip art and inserting clips into a publication using the clip art task pane and clip organizer. Begin by opening Calendar1.

 

1.

Go to Insert, point to Picture, select Clip Art. This will display the Clip Art task pane.

 

 

 

2.

We are going to search for a map of the world to incorporate into a calendar.

 

In the Search for Box, type World.

For a General Search, check Everywhere in the Search In box

 

 

Note: For a customized search, check one of the options listed.

Next, we are going to customize this section of the task pane by checking Clip Art and Photographs.

Select Go or press Enter.

The results will be displayed below.

Scroll down until you come to the Countries and Regions map shown below.

Point to the clip art item, select the item’s down arrow.

Select Insert from the menu.

The Countries and Regions map will appear in the publication window.

We have successfully inserted the clip art item; now let’s take a look at the Clip Organizer.

 

Select  at the bottom of the Clip Art task pane.

If this is the first time you have used the clip organizer, a Welcome window will appear. Select Now and the Clip Organizer will catalogue all the clip and media files found on your hard drive with the Office and Media Collections.

When this task is complete the Clip Organizer will open.

Select the Plus sign for Web Collections to access clip art files.

For the last few steps we are going to copy and paste an item from the Web collection to our favourites.

 

Double Click on Agriculture.

Point to the first clip art image and select the clip art’s down arrow

 

Select Copy.

Go to Favourites.

Right click, select Paste Clip.

The clip from the Web Collection will be pasted to Favourites; this is a great way to keep track of clip art, especially the items you use on a regular basis.

Close Clip Organizer.

We will be using Calendar 1 later on, so we’ll keep the file open. Select Minimize .
