The first three menu options are Insert, Delete, and Select. Each of these options has a sub-menu of tasks that can be performed with the associated command. For example under the Insert menu (shown below) you can insert a table, columns to the left and right, and rows above and below.

Under the Delete menu, tables, columns, and rows can be deleted. In order to delete any of these items, the column, row, or table must first be selected.

The Third option is Select. Select and Delete can be used together because in order to delete an item it needs to be selected. With the select option, a cell must be active in order for the select options to become available.
