A desktop is a GUI (graphical user interface) which consists mainly of icons. An icon is a picture that represents an object or program (such as a file, folder, or shortcut). These icons can represent various types of documents or places. They can also be created, deleted, and arranged in different ways on your desktop and in other areas. You will also be learning how to use your mouse and keyboard to help you navigate within Windows and access the Start menu, taskbar and other menu options.
