SECTION 1
Using your Desktop

We will start with the mouse and its available options first. A basic mouse has a left click, right click, and an optional wheel (which is usually between the two buttons and is also sometimes clickable). In Windows the left click button is always the primary button used.

 Left Click button

·         Used to select, highlight, or open an item.

·         Has a single click and double click option. (The default Windows settings are single click to highlight an item and double click to open an item.)

·         The left mouse button can also be used to drag or highlight an item. This can be done by clicking and holding down the button, dragging or highlighting your desired item(s), then letting go.

 Right Click button

·         Used to bring up a short-cut menu.

·         This menu will change depending on what you are right-clicking on, but it is there to help you access a feature faster.

Scroll Wheel
Used to scroll when a scroll bar is available. A scroll bar will only be available when the content you are viewing cannot fit in the window you are using.
