SECTION 2
Understanding the Layout of a Window

The concept of allowing you to have multiple applications open in different windows at the same time is one of the main functions of Windows XP. Minimizing windows you currently do not need is a good way to manage your workspace. However, there may be an instance when you need to view the contents of more then one window at a time. Lining up two or more windows is made easy using the Tiling tool.

To tile your open windows, right click a blank area of the taskbar and select Tile Windows Horizontally or Tile Windows Vertically.

You should cascade windows when you have several windows open and want them to overlap each other. To cascade your open windows, right-click a blank area of the taskbar and select Cascade Windows.
