SECTION 2

Other Features

An item that often causes confusion to new computer users is the difference between My Computer and Windows Explorer. The evolution of Windows has resulted in similarities between the two (with the main similarity being the ability to locate and manage your files and folders) but there are some differences.

The first difference is how you open each.

To access My Computer go to Start > My Computer.

To access Windows Explorer right-click on any folder and select Explore.

Notice how Windows Explorer replaces the Task Pane with a tree view of your desktop. This enhanced view can be helpful when organizing files or folders.
