To install most programs, insert the media and follow the on screen instructions or read the manual that came with your software. If nothing happens when you insert the media which is used to install the program then Windows XP does include a helpful feature to help you install programs.

To access the Add New Programs section, click the Start Button, and select the Control Panel. Then, click (or double-click) Add/Remove Programs. Choose the option/button on the left for Add New Programs. Then, choose the option to install from a CD or Floppy or with Windows Update.
