SECTION 2
Lesson 2.1: Menus And Toolbars

For this section we will be focusing on the add-ons for your taskbar. This includes the Quick Launch Bar and other toolbars.

The Quick Launch bar is a customizable toolbar that lets you display the Windows desktop or start a program with a single click. Programs can be added, removed, or dragged to and from the Quick Launch Bar.

When the Quick Launch bar is not long enough for all of the icons to be shown a chevron button is available. Click the chevron to see a list of the programs that aren’t shown. The Quick Launch Bar can also be lengthened to show more icons.

Other toolbars like Administrative Tools and Desktop can be added to the Task Bar. These will appear on the far right side, before the notification area.

To add other toolbars to the taskbar, right click a blank area of the taskbar, select the Toolbars menu, and select one of the default options, or choose the New Toolbar option to specify your own location.

Added toolbars are very flexible. With the taskbar unlocked, you may want to try dragging them onto your desktop or in front of another toolbar. You will be amazed with what you can do!
