Lesson 2.1: Menus And Toolbars

   

 

 

1.

Have your desktop loaded with no applications open.

 

 

2.

Right click on the taskbar and click Lock the Taskbar to uncheck it.

 

 

 

3.

Click on a blank area of the taskbar and drag it to the right side of your screen.

 

 

 

4.

Right click on the taskbar and click Lock the Taskbar to check it.

 

 

 

5.

Right click on the taskbar and select Properties.

 

 

 

6.

Click the Customize button for Hide Inactive Icons.

 

 

 

7.

Set the Volume item to Always Show.

 

 

 

8.

Click the OK button in the Customize Notification window.

 

 

 

9.

Click the OK button in the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties Window.

 

 

10.

Right click the Start Button and select Properties.

 

 

 

11.

Click the Start Menu option (radio button), and then click the Customize button.

 

 

 

12.

Click the Advanced tab.

 

 

 

13.

Under the Start Menu Items section, check the radio button under Control Panel for Display as a Menu.

 

 

 

14.

Click OK twice to close all open windows.
