Lesson 2.2: Internet And Networking Tools

   

 

 

 

1.

Close all open windows so you are at your desktop.

 

 

2.

Click the Start menu and click Control Panel.

 

 

3.

Double-click Network Connections or single-click Network and Internet Connections. (There are two different views for the Control Panel.)

 

 

 

4.

Click the View menu and select Details.

 

 

 

5.

Note down the type of each connection and the name.

Note: changing views will help show additional information easily.

 

 

 

6.

Click Create a New Connection icon in the network connections window.

 

 

 

7.

Read the first screen and click Next.

 

 

 

8.

Choose to set up an Advanced Connection. Click Next.

 

 

 

9.

Select the option for Accept Incoming Connections. Click Next.

 

 

 

10.

Specify the connection device you want to use. Click Next.

 

 

 

11.

Click the option for Do Not Allow Virtual Private connections. Click Next.

 

 

 

12.

Check the box for the Guest. Click Next.

 

 

 

13.

Click Next at the Networking Software screen. (We will use the default settings.)

 

 

 

14.

Click the Finish button.
