The Entertainment sub-menu
provides you with some helpful audio and visual programs. The basic
Sound Recorder and Volume Control programs provide limited functionality
for audio creation or editing, while Windows Media Player is an advanced
program intended for multiple audio and video needs. Any playback of
music on Windows XP (streaming radio, CD, DVD, or downloaded) is played
using Windows Media Player.

Sound Recorder

Allows you to record,
mix, play, and edit sounds. |

Volume Control
|
Allows you to adjust the
volume, balance, bass, and treble for sounds played on the
computer or by multimedia applications. You can also adjust the
level of system sounds, microphones, CD audio, line-in,
synthesizer, wave output, and many other options. (Also
available in the notification area and the Control Panel). |

Windows Media
Player |
A Windows program used
to play music CDs, DVDs, and streaming music (such as radio
stations). You can also search for and organize digital media
files, or copy files to a portable device. |
