The Entertainment sub-menu provides you with some helpful audio and visual programs. The basic Sound Recorder and Volume Control programs provide limited functionality for audio creation or editing, while Windows Media Player is an advanced program intended for multiple audio and video needs. Any playback of music on Windows XP (streaming radio, CD, DVD, or downloaded) is played using Windows Media Player.

Sound Recorder

Volume Control

Allows you to adjust the volume, balance, bass, and treble for sounds played on the computer or by multimedia applications. You can also adjust the level of system sounds, microphones, CD audio, line-in, synthesizer, wave output, and many other options. (Also available in the notification area and the Control Panel).

Windows Media Player

A Windows program used to play music CDs, DVDs, and streaming music (such as radio stations). You can also search for and organize digital media files, or copy files to a portable device.
