Lesson 1.3: Graphics Tools

   

 

 

1.

Open Microsoft Office Word 2003. (If you already have Word open, create a blank document.)

 

 

2.

Click the Insert menu, click Picture, and click ClipArt.

 

 

 

3.

In the ClipArt task pane, click Organize Clips.

 

 

 

4.

The Microsoft Clip Organizer should open.

Click Later to the Welcome message if it appears.

 

 

 

5.

In the Clip Organizer, click the File menu. Choose Add Clips and choose On My Own.

 

 

 

6.

Browse to the Sample Files folder.

Double-click the My Pictures folder.

Press Ctrl and A to select all the pictures.

Click the Add To button.

Click the Unclassified Clips folder.

Click OK and then Add.

 

 

 

7.

Close the Clip Organizer and go back to your Word document.

In the Search for dialog box, type Cookies.

In the Collections menu, uncheck Office Collections and Web Collections.

Expand the My Collections list. Uncheck all folders except Unclassified Clips.

 

 

 

8.

One image should appear in the results. Right-click it and click Insert.

 

 

 

9.

Close the ClipArt task pane.

 

 

10.

Center the image. Press Enter four times.

 

 

 

11.

Click the Insert menu and click Chart.

 

 

Your picture will seem to disappear; that’s OK.

 

 

12.

Resize your chart to make it bigger. (You may have to move the datasheet; remember that you can drag and drop it to a new location.)

 

 

 

13.

Fill in your datasheet so it looks like the sample below. Remember that you can resize the datasheet by placing your cursor in the bottom right hand corner and dragging.

 

 

 

14.

Right-click in a blank area of the chart and click Format Chart Area.

 

 

 

15.

In the Format Chart dialog, choose Custom for the border. Leave the style and weight as they are; choose Pale Yellow for the colour.

Check Shadow.

Click OK.

 

 

 

16.

Right-click in the main chart area and click Chart Type.

 

 

 

17.

In the Chart Type dialog, click Lines for type. Choose Line with Markers for the sub-type.

Click OK.

 

 

18.

Save your document as Cookie Report.

 

 

19.

Close Microsoft Office Word 2003.
