Open
Microsoft Office Word 2003. |

Open the
Widget Table document from the
Sample Files folder. |

Select all of the
text
in the table.

Click the
Table
menu, choose
Convert, and
click
Text to Table.
In the Convert Text to
Table dialog box, type
5
for the
Number of Columns.
For AutoFit Behaviour,
choose
Fixed Column Width.
Type
0.2 in the
text box.
Click the
AutoFormat button to choose a
table style if you wish.
Choose
Tabs
in the
Separate Text At
section.
Click
OK.

Click in the
Widgets column and click
Sort
Descending ( ) on the
Tables and Borders toolbars.
Repeat the
process for the next two columns (Hammer
and
Nails).

Click to place your
cursor at the bottom of the Widgets column.
Click the
AutoSum button ( ) on the
Tables and Borders toolbar.

Repeat Step 6 with the
rest of the cells in the Total row.

Click the
Table
menu, choose
Select, and
click
Table.

Click the
Insert menu and click
Object.
On the
Create New Object tab, select
Microsoft Graph Chart.
Click
OK.

Close the
datasheet.
Center your chart by
selecting it and pressing
Ctrl
and E.

Click in a
blank
space of your document to
de-select the chart and return to the normal Word screen. Place
your cursor
below the chart.

Click the
Insert menu and click
Object.
Click the
Create From File tab.
Browse to your
Sample Files folder and choose
Sample Book.xls.
Click
OK.

Select the
new
table and center it by pressing
Ctrl and E.

Save your
document as
Widget Tables
