Open Microsoft
Office Word 2003. (If you already have Word open, create a blank
document.) |

Choose any font
type, size, and effect you like.
Press
Ctrl and E
to center the first line.
Type
Spring Flowers.
Press
Enter
twice.

Click the
Insert
menu, choose
Picture,
and choose
Picture From File.

Browse to your
Sample Files
folder
Choose
Water lilies.jpg.
Click
Insert.

Right-click
on the Water Lilies
picture
in your document.
Click
Format Picture.

In the Format
Picture dialog, click the
Picture
tab.
Choose
Washout
for the colour style.
Click
OK.

Click the
Transparency Painter
( ) on the
picture toolbar.
Click inside a
flower
to make all the flowers more transparent. (You can experiment
with clicking in different parts of flowers to get the effect
you want.)

Click the
Crop
icon ( ) on the
picture toolbar.
Drag the top of the
picture down and the bottom of the picture up so that the
picture is focused on the flowers.

Right-click
on the picture and click
Caption.

Click
Exclude label from
caption
to check it.
For the caption
title, type
Water Lilies in the Springtime.
Click
OK.

Adjust the font of
your caption if you wish. |

Save your document
as
Spring Foliage
and close
