Lesson 3.3: Inserting Diagrams and Charts

   

 

 

1.

Open Microsoft Office Word 2003.

Open the Pizza Recipe document from the sample files folder.

 

 

2.

Insert your cursor in the blank line above the word directions.

 

 

 

3.

Click the Insert menu and click Diagram.

Click Radial and click OK.

 

 

 

4.

Click the Insert Shape button four times to add four more items to the radial diagram.

 

 

 

5.

In the centre of the diagram, type Pizza.

For the six outlying items, type one pizza ingredient in each circle. (The ingredients are listed at the beginning of the recipe: ground beef, pepperoni sausage, buttermilk dough, sauce, black olives, and mozzarella cheese.)

 

 

 

6.

Click the Style Gallery button () on the toolbar.

Choose Square Shadows and click OK.

 

 

 

7.

Click the outside border of the diagram and then click the text wrap button () on the diagram toolbar.

Click Top and Bottom.

 

 

 

8.

Click the Change To button and click Pyramid.

Click Yes to the AutoFormat warning.

 

 

9.

Use the Move Up and Move Down buttons () on the diagram toolbar so that the items in your diagram are arranged like the picture below.

 

 

 

10.

Save your document as Pizza Recipe with Diagram.

Close Microsoft Office Word 2003.
