Yet another way to customize your AutoShapes is to add 3-D styles and shadows. These effects can really make your shapes pop off the screen!

 

To set a shadow, first select the object(s) that you want to apply the shadow to. Then, click the Shadow button on the drawing toolbar to expand the shadow menu.

 

 

Then, pick the shadow type that you want. (If you have previously applied a shadow and now wish to remove it, click No Shadow.) You can come back at any time and change the shadow type.

 

You can do the same to apply 3-D effects: select the object and click the 3-D menu.

 

 

You can only apply a 3-D effect or a shadow to an object, but both cannot be in use at the same time. They can, however, be used in combination with fills and borders.
