Lesson 3.5: Using Objects

   

 

 

Most objects can be selected, moved, and resized. Selecting an object is just like selecting a picture: just click on it! Remember that you can hold Ctrl or Shift to select different combinations of items.

 

Once you click on an object, you will have handles for resizing it. Pictures or objects usually have a solid box with squares that you can grab to change the size. Here’s an example:

 

 

User-defined graphics, like AutoShapes and the drawing canvas, also have handles, although they may appear a bit different. The drawing canvas has solid lines and angles that you can grab; the AutoShape has white circles. You can see examples of both below:

 

To move an object, just select it and drag it to its new location, just like you would do with text. Some objects will give you a dotted outline showing you the process, while others won’t.
