Lesson 1.4: Other Macro Tasks

   

 

 

If you have macros stored in other templates, it’s easy to copy them into the current document without loading the whole template.

 

First, let’s open the macro organizer. To do this, click the Tools menu, choose Macro, and click Macros. Then, click the Organizer button on the left hand side.

 

 

Once you do that, this window will open:

 

 

If you’ve ever copied styles from a template, this process is a lot similar. On the right hand side, you can see macros that are in the most recently loaded template (in the sample above, normal.dot is selected). You can use the Copy, Delete, or Rename actions to modify macros or copy them to the current document.

 

You can close either the current document or the template. Then, an Open File button will appear:

 

 

You can now click Open File and browse to the template or document that has the macro you want. Then, you can select that macro and Copy, Delete, or Rename it.

 

 

Once you’re done organizing your macros, click Close to return to the main Word screen.
