If you know you’re going to create a Web page, it may be easiest to use an HTML template. This template is already in Web layout and will automatically save as a single-file Web page (.mhtml).
To open an HTML template, we’ll have to open the templates dialog box first. We can use one of these methods to do this: - Click the Start menu, choose Programs (or All Programs) and click New Office Document. - In Word, click the File menu and click New. In the New Document task pane, click On my computer…
Either action will open the templates dialog box; if you have used the Start menu command you will see templates for all the Office applications you have installed.
In this dialog, click Web Page on the General tab. Then, choose whether you’re creating a new document or a new template and click OK.
The new template will open just like any other document:
You can see that we’re already in Web layout, so your Web page is ready to create!
Like other document types, you can create your own HTML templates and work off of those. This can be particularly useful if you’re building a number of Web pages for your Web site as you would probably want them all to look alike. |
