Lesson 3.3: Creating References Within a Document

   

 

 

During this whole lesson, we’ve assumed that you’re in print layout. If you switch to Normal view, however, you’ll have a different way to view footnotes. You can double-click on a footnote or endnote to open the note pane:

 

 

You can then use the drop-down menu to view all footnotes or all endnotes. (Of course, you can also use the Close button to close the note pane.) You can also right-click on a footnote or endnote to convert it or to edit its options:

 

 

If you edit your notes often, this may be the best view for you. Remember that you can switch between Print Layout and Normal view at any time using the View menu.
