Once
you open Microsoft Office Document Imaging, here’s the screen that you
will see:

At the
very top of the screen, we have seven menu bars:
|
File |
Contains
basic file commands like open, close, import, save, print, and
exit. Also contains commands for searching files and scanning
images. |
|
Edit |
Here’s where
you’ll find basic editing commands like cut, copy, paste, undo,
and redo. This is also where you can find the format object
command. |
|
View |
Change how
your scanned pages appear on screen. You can also change what
toolbars are open on the screen or view page properties. |
|
Page |
Contains
commands for working with entire pages, such as cut page, select
all pages, rotate page, and move pages to a new file. |
|
Tools |
Here’s where
you will find MODI’s four main features: Recognize Text Using
OCR, Send Text to Word, add Annotations and set MODI Options. |
|
Window |
Arrange
windows or toggle between documents. |
|
Help |
If you have
a question this menu will help you find a place to answer it! |
Below the menu bar
are the MODI toolbars which contain most of the commands you’ll need.
The rest of the screen is divided into two parts: the left hand side
displays a thumbnail view of the scan while the right hand side displays
each page.

By default, opening
a file in MODI creates copy of it, saved as a .mdi file (MODI’s default
document format) in your My Documents folder (the default MODI
location).
