Lesson 2.3: Using Headers and Footers

   

 

 

Creating headers and footers is easy. Once you have the header/footers view open, you can type in the dotted box just like you would in your document. (As examples, you can type text, delete text, add formatting, and insert graphics.) The only difference is that by default, anything you type or delete will be repeated in every header and footer in your document. (This option can be changed; we’ll talk about how to do that in a bit.) The header or footer will expand to show all of your text or graphics.

 

 

You can click to the left, right, or centre of a header or footer to immediately create that type of alignment. You can also click the left side of the header or footer, then press Tab once to go to the centre, and press Tab again to go to the right.

As well, once you have typed text, you can open the header and footer view by double-clicking on header or footer text.
